Certified Recovery specialist Training I

International Recovery Institute offers a cutting-edge 3-day training led by top professionals in the addiction field.

To become a certified IRI Recovery Specialist the following are required:

  • Complete the 3-day training course
  • Complete all exams
  • Submit three letters of reference (2 professional,1 personal)
  • Proof of liability insurance is also mandatory. If working independently, students must obtain personal liability insurance. Should the student be working with a company, a signed letter from said company stating that insurance is provided through employment will suffice.
  • Complete 6 weekly consultation calls (to be scheduled after 3-day training is completed)

Upon successful completion of all course requirements, students will be awarded with a Recovery Specialist certification, valid for two years.

Course Duration




Live Training

4-days; locations TBD

After completing in-person training, student will participate in 6,
2-hour consultation calls, to be scheduled after 3-day training is completed, and must be completed within 12 months of live training date

$1495 due at registration*

Recovery Specialist certification, valid for two years, once certification portion is completed

Upon successful completion of the course, students will become proficient in:

Recertification Requirements

To retain the title of IRI CRS after the expiration date, students must continue to meet the high ethical standards set forth by IRI.  Recertification is required every 2 years and the recertification requirements are:

  • Evidence of completion of 10 addiction/mental health CEUs per year
  • Current proof of malpractice insurance
  • Updated contact information, including work & personal email and phone numbers
  • Signed Ethics statement
  • Recertification fee of $150.
