Overview

The same cutting-edge training, created by top professionals in the recovery field, now available as a virtual course! Instructors will guide you through sixteen modules over Zoom, complete with breakout rooms for a full hands-on experiential learning environment.

THE VIRTUAL CERTIFIED RECOVERY SPECIALIST (CRS) TRAINING & CERTIFICATION PROCESS INCLUDES:

24 hours of theoretical training and coaching iin online groups and calls to support experiential learning
Access to IRI’s e-learning platform
Ongoing professional development opportunities
Continuing Education Units in Ethics and Recovery Specialist Theory & Practice
Certification of Recovery Specialist, valid for 2 years*

National accreditation through NAADAC and local accreditation through PCB.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will become proficient in:

Knowledge of addiction and recovery
Understanding the challenges of mental health and dual diagnosis issues
Knowledge of family systems
Professional Experience
Past experience working in the addiction & mental health field
Good communication and people skills

To become a certified IRI Recovery Specialist the following are required:

Complete the virtual training course by attending all scheduled zoom calls
Complete all quizzes, assignments and coursework
Submit three letters of reference (2 professional,1 personal)
Proof of liability insurance. If working independently, students must obtain personal liability insurance. Should the student be working with a company, a signed letter from said company stating that insurance is provided through employment will suffice.
Complete 12 consultation calls, over zoom, immediately following conclusion on virtual course

Upon successful completion of all course requirements, students will be awarded with a Recovery Specialist certification, valid for two years.

Recertification Requirements

Initial certification is awarded upon successful completion of all requirements of Recovery Specialist Comprehensive training to include consultation. Initial certification is valid for two year from the date all requirements are satisfied and verified.

To retain the title of IRI CRS after the expiration date, students must continue to meet the high ethical standards set forth by IRI. Students are required to complete the following to renew their certification for another year:

Evidence of completion of 10 addiction/mental health CEUs per year
Current proof of malpractice insurance
Updated contact information, including work & personal email and phone numbers
Signed Ethics and policy statement
Recertification fee of $150.

Participation in the Recovery Specialist Alumni Retreat/Workshop and/or IRI Advanced Courses is highly encouraged. CEUs earned can be applied to recertification.
